My Journey:
Growing up, my first jobs were in restaurants. I’ve been a dishwasher, crab steamer, oyster shucker, line cook... everywhere from the front of the house to the back. I did whatever I could to help fuel my natural artistic talent.
Once I got to school to study art, I was told that artists don’t really make money, so I figured graphic design was the way to go. After graduating, I started work at an ad agency that focused on foodservice and hospitality clients.
This was monumental for me because it was where I was introduced to food styling. I didn’t even know it was a job, but as soon as I did, it was as if the stars aligned. This is my dream job.
I immediately started researching everything I could about professional food styling. I met with the best stylist in the area and asked her a million questions, which I will forever be grateful for. After that conversation, I knew I had to go to cooking school. So off I went.
After a whirlwind of a few years including a life-altering stage in Italy, I returned with a determination to have my career as a food stylist. Little did I know, it would take years, I mean years, for it to all come together... but here I am, and I couldn’t be happier and prouder of the journey and what’s still to come.
